Practical information
Book Display
There will be a book display at the conference. Information about new publications will be available from some publishing houses, but no one of these will be present at the conference. All participants are warmly encouraged to bring printed material and samples of their own publications for the display.
Paper Presentations
If handouts or copies of papers for afternoon paper sessions are necessary, they must be brought by the presenters. There is a minimum of copy facilities at Sigtuna Foundation.
Guided Tours
There will be opportunities to see the Sigtuna village during the conference. The tourist office is informed about the conference and invites us all to visit Sigtuna which contains a history of the first Christian mission to Sweden, with for example ruins and a medieval church.
The tourist office is placed in the building “Drakegården” where Bonhoeffer and Bell met in 1942. Conference stewards will organize walks (10-15 minutes) to “Drakegården” to present the historical background of this conference.
Stockholm
There will be evening programs during the conference, but it’s also possible to make a visit to the capital of Sweden. Public transportation is well developed and from the Sigtuna Foundation there are busses every half hour to the trains in Märsta where both national and commuter trains take you to Stockholm, approximately within an hour, bus included.
Public Transportation Tickets
If you are going more than one or two trips during your stay in Stockholm-Sigtuna area, a budget strip ticket with 16 tickets included is recommended. This form of ticket is valid for more than one person. If you are up to 20 or above 65 years old there is a reduced price. The least that is taken (stamped) for Stockholm with surroundings is 2 tickets for a trip. Stockholm-Sigtuna covers 3 zones which demand the same amount of tickets. By ticket in shops called “Pressbyrån” which is located all over the place in Stockholm, in all metro stations, Stockholm central station, Arlanda international airport and down town Sigtuna village. If you are staying close to Stockholm before or after the conference a tourist ticket might be an option. Ask at “Pressbyrån” for information. Metro stations still takes cash but not the buses any more. Prepaid ticket is preferred.
